Municipal rental housing in Germany: Study visit to the city of Nuremberg
The study visit aims at providing knowledge from the practical experience of an exemplary housing provider of Germany for key housing specialists from Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, as well as the officials and experts from the key Ministries of Ukraine implementing legislative initiatives on housing affordability – the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
A full consideration of a particular case study of municipal housing company wbg Immobilien of the city of Nuremberg allows to understand all aspects of municipal housing model and its place in the housing system and consolidate the knowledge in a systematic way. The program is focused on practicalities of running a housing company, and the participants can directly inquire the specialists from the host company practical questions. Site visits will provide specific project examples of different housing stock that a company possesses, focusing on their architectural, technical, spatial and social characteristics.
After the visit, the participants should have a comprehensive overview of municipal housing as a model of housing provision, its advantages and limitations, as well as management requirements to run such a company, funding opportunities and find the answers to a range of practical questions.
