UNECE Initiates Development of a City Project Tracker for Ukrainian Cities
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) announces the commencement of work on a City Project Tracker, a platform designed to monitor urban development projects across the two pilot cities of the UN4UkranianCities Project – Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.
The City Project Tracker will offer a comprehensive overview of the implementation progress for Kharkiv and Mykolaiv’s concept masterplans and pilot projects. This user-friendly system aims to enhance transparency, coordination, and efficiency in urban development planning and execution.
Key features of the City Project Tracker will include:
3D interactive maps showcasing project locations
Detailed visualizations of proposed interventions in each area
Real-time progress updates on ongoing projects
Performance metrics and timeline monitoring
In July 2024, key stakeholders convened to begin discussions on the tracker’s development. The collaboration includes representatives of the DREAM platform at the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, UNECE, the municipalities of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, and NTT Data, a global IT services provider developing the tool.
As the project progresses, UNECE will share updates on the City Project Tracker’s development through the UN4UkrainianCities website and other appropriate channels. This initiative underscores UNECE’s commitment to supporting sustainable and resilient urban development in the region, providing a powerful tool for decision-making and progress monitoring in Ukrainian cities in order to build back better.
