Mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine, Mr. Ihor Terekhov, opened the Second Day of the Forum as the Vice-Chair of the Forum, and Mr. Oleksandr Sienkevych, Mayor of Mykolaiv, Ukraine, spoke during Segment Three: Regeneration towards sustainable and resilient urban environments.

Background

The Forum of Mayors brings together city leaders from across the UNECE region and beyond to address the key challenges of our time. In the third Forum of Mayors, under the theme "Urban regeneration towards 2030", mayors will discuss their cities' urban regeneration projects to achieve more inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban development.

Participation

Mayor Terekhov opened the second day alongside Michal Mlynár, Deputy Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and Mathieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. They were joined by leaders from over 40 cities worldwide at the Palais des Nations, to take action under this year's theme "Urban Regeneration towards 2030".
