Kharkiv Masterplan: A Blueprint for the Reconstruction of Ukraine
The New Kharkiv City Masterplan represents a forward-looking vision for the city, spearheaded by Lord Norman Foster and a global team of professionals in architecture, planning, and engineering. Initiated by Mayor Ihor Terekhov during the UN Forum of Mayors, this project brought together over 800 experts in more than 140 working sessions, incorporating feedback from 16,000 Kharkiv citizens.
The concept masterplan aims to blend Kharkiv's historical heritage with modern, green infrastructure, transforming it into a high-tech, energy-efficient, and innovative metropolis. Divided into three parts, the publication details the foundational research, guiding principles, and a pilot project approach for practical implementation.
This concept masterplan not only envisions Kharkiv's future but also serves as a hopeful blueprint for other Ukrainian cities.
